Greetings Car & Motorcycle Enthusiasts,
2020 has been devastating on small businesses and museums across the nation, and the San Diego Automotive Museum in Balboa Park is no exception. San Diego Automotive Museum (SDAM) needs your help today. Your support of the upcoming ‘Shifting Gears’ Car Rally ensures our longevity through this pandemic and for years to come.
Though this year has brought some setbacks, we know we have a bright future. SDAM is turning a new corner as the center of a thriving automotive culture in San Diego and beyond. We are truly ‘Shifting Gears’ and bringing life back to the San Diego Automotive Museum as we embark on a major museum renovation inside and out. We look forward to sharing our plans and vision for the new SDAM! With your sponsorship, we will be closer to our goal of putting the museum back on the road and making the SDAM a place for all car and motorcycle enthusiasts to call home.
The ‘Shifting Gears’ Car Rally on Saturday, October 10, 2020 will start at the San Diego Automotive Museum in Balboa Park and end at Sycuan Casino Resort. Participants will start their day with coffee and donuts and a tour of the museum. Each person will receivea backpack filled with sponsor items, a Padres cap, rally t-shirt, car sticker and more. Thefirst stop will be at JBA Speed Shop in Kearny Mesa for photos and an experience at JBA. The next stop is Veloce Motors, The Vault in Miramar to enjoy unique vintage and new car collections and take a private tour. Then we will hit the back roads of San Diego County to arrive at Sycuan Resort Casino for our celebration with light lunch, music, trophies and awards. Adding to the excitement surrounding this event is an online auction with auto memorabilia, plus a raffle to win a 1968 Dodge Coronet running from September 1 – December 18, 2020!
